The Exploited are a seminal Punk Rock group, from the so-called second wave of U,K. Punk. Despite seemingly countless line-up changes over the years, the band has managed to maintain, develop & evolve a style which has had arguably more of an influence than any other Punk rock band before or since. Frontman Wattie Buchan has led the many members through over 20 years of constant gigging & recording, creating a worldwide following in the process. A steady increase in thrashiness can be tracked through the bands history. Each successive album has had a bit more edge than the last. This reflects the drive Wattie & Co have to keep Punk at the front lines of creative expression in style & substance alike. ON THE OTHER HAND it is also worth mentioning the Exploited are associated with fascist Skinhead / Nazi / White Power elements. As noted in GET IN THE VAN they were not above performing the Nazi saulte & one passage in the book details Wattie sending the crowd out to beat up people at the concert down the street by playing the Exploited song FUCK A MOD.
