Background Information: 21 Jump Street [Top] 21 Jump Street was an hour long police drama television series, developed by Fox Television Network. It ran from April 12, 1987 to April 27, 1991, with a total of 103 episodes .The show at first was a huge success, but by the end of its fifth season it was cancelled due to low ratings. It was produced by Stephen J Cannell Productions & was aired on the Fox Broadcasting Company from 1987-1990, completed in first-run syndication on local affiliates. It was later completed in rerun syndication on Foxs FX cable network from 1996 to 1998 & was distributed by Twentieth Television. IDTs Anchor Bay Entertainment released the complete first season of the show on DVD in October 2004. The show is about a group of young cops whose youthful appearances enabled them to work undercover to catch troubled youths. As with most teenage shows in the late 80s & early 90s, the show covered typical plots, such as hate crimes, drug abuse, drinking & sexual promiscuity. Similarly, each problem was solved by the end of the hour long show, giving an implicit moral about the impact of a particular activity.
Biography: Dustin Nguyen [Top] Dustin Nguyen a Vietnamese-American was born on September 17, 1962, in Saigon, South Vietnam. During the invasion of South Vietnam by the Communist North Vietnamese Army & their Viet Cong Agents, Dustin & his family left their beloved nation, while the Army of the Republic of Vietnam were defending the capital city of Saigon. His mother My Le was an actress & dancer & his father Xuan Phat an actor, writer & producer in South Vietnam. They arrived in Guam, the family was moved to a refugee camp in Arkansas, with the assistance of a Methodist church they relocated to to Saint Louis, Missouri. After he graduated highschool, he moved to Southern California & attended Orange Coast College & majored in communications.
