Bernard Cribbins is a British character actor & musical comedian. He was born in Oldham, Lancashire. Early in his career, he released a number of comedy records, including the famous Right Said Fred & Hole in the Ground. He has appeared in many British films, including three Carry On films, one of the Doctor Who films & as the station porter, Perks, in The Railway Children. He was the narrator of the British animated childrens TV series The Wombles. He also narrated a celebrated BBC radio adaptation of The Wind in the Willows. Other television appearances included Fawlty Towers, as the spoon salesman Mr Hutchinson in the episode The Hotel Inspectors.
