James Bond is a sophisticated fictional character & British spy, created by Ian Fleming, also known as 007, he is the main protagonist in numerous novels & short stories by Ian Fleming & later by Kingsley Amis, John Pearson, John Gardner, Raymond Benson & Charlie Higson. James Bond, is best known from the EON Productions film series. Currently, there are twenty films, starring Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton & Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. The majority were produced by Albert R Broccoli & Harry Saltzman ; Broccolis daughter & stepson, Barbara Broccoli & Michael G Wilson, later became the producers. Independent of EON, two other James Bond films were made, Casino Royale & Never Say Never Again. Since the mid–1970s, Danjaq, LLC., has co-owned the James Bond series with United Artists Corporation; Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, distribute the series. Dr No is the sixth James Bond novel by Ian Fleming, originally published in 1958. The novel was adapted as the first official James Bond film in 1962. The film was produced by Albert R Broccoli & Harry Saltzman with Sean Connery playing the role of British Secret Service agent, Commander James Bond, for the first time. It led to a popular & long-running series of Bond films made by Broccoli & Saltzmans EON Productions. James Bond travels to Jamaica to investigate the disappearance of Strangways, a fellow agent. He learns that Strangways had been investigating the activities of a bird-dung merchant named Dr Julius No, who lives on a mysterious island said to be haunted, because anyone who goes there never returns. With help of a Jamaican named Quarrel & the beautiful Honeychile Ryder, Bond discovers that Dr No is working for the Soviets, helping to sabotage nearby American missile tests. Sir Thomas Sean Connery better known simply as Sean Connery, is a Scottish film actor who has starred in many Hollywood films. Connery is well known to audiences around the world for his role as James Bond. Connery first appeared as Bond in Dr Over 40 years since he first played the role, Connery is still widely regarded as the definitive cinematic incarnation of James Bond, despite credible interpretations of the character by the likes of Roger Moore & Pierce Brosnan. The Name of the Rose ; his performance earned him an BAFTA Award for Best Actor. The Untouchables ; this performance earned him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. Connery is known for his trademark Scottish accent & his good looks, repeatedly being mentioned as one of the most attractive men alive by magazines even after he was considerably older than more conventional sex symbols. Zena Marshall is a Kenyan -born British actress known for her work in British film & television. Marshalls film career dates back to 1945 when she had a bit role in a production of Caesar & Cleopatra starring Claude Rains & Vivien Leigh. Her exotic looks often resulted in her being cast in ethnic roles, such as Italians & Asian characters. It is as the Chinese Miss Taro in the first James Bond film, Dr No in 1962 that Marshall is arguably best known. Another major film on her resume was 1965 s Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines. Marshall appeared in numerous TV series in the 1950s & 1960s, including three appearances on Danger Man.
