Father of the Pride is an NBC television show that began broadcasting on August 31, 2004 & was only the second computer-generated TV series in prime-time network television. The show, which is produced by Jeffrey Katzenberg & his company, DreamWorks SKG revolves around a family of white lions, the patriarch of which stars in a Siegfried & Roy show in Las Vegas. The show features the voice talent of John Goodman, Danielle Harris, Cheryl Hines, Carl Reiner, Orlando Jones, Julian Holloway & Dave Herman. The per-episode cost of the series is reportedly $1,6 million USD & each episode takes nine months to create. The show was almost canceled long before its broadcast following the near death of Roy Horn in October 2003, but after his condition improved, both Siegfried & Roy urged NBC to continue production of the show.

Superb comedy series. Have watched it over & over - extremly funny. Sarmoni the wise cracking lion is probably the best character. Can't understand why they canned the series. Animated adult humour doesn't get much better! Watch it!

John Goodman is an American actor, best known for his many comic roles, including Fred Flintstone in the movie The Flintstones, Roseanne Barr s husband in the TV sitcom Roseanne, the voice of Sully in Monsters, Inc. & many roles in movies of The Coen Brothers. He had his own sitcom called Normal, Ohio in which he played an anti-typical gay man who returns to his small hometown to start a life. The show was panned & although it projected a positive message for homosexuals gay fans did not respond well.
