All About Eve is a movie written & directed in 1950 by Joseph L Mankiewicz from a story by Mary Orr. Anne Baxter plays scheming young starlet Eve Harrington, who is determined to succeed at all costs. She does so without consideration to others, including her idol Margo Channing, an aging theatre star played by Bette Davis. Marilyn Monroe is effective in a small part as a dumb blonde. Joseph Leo Mankiewicz was a Polish - American legendary Hollywood screenwriter, director & producer. He is best known for writing All About Eve. He won four Academy Awards for directing & writing.
