Anne Francis is an American actress, famous for her roles in the cult science fiction classic, Forbidden Planet & as the eponymous private detective Honey West. Francis was born in Ossining, New York & entered the business at a young age, working as a model at age 5 & making her Broadway debut at age 11. She appeared in scores of TV shows & several movies, including several appearances on Rod Serling s The Twilight Zone. She was a mainstay of 1970s television movies & returned to television to portray Mama Jo for the detective series Riptide. As Altaira in Forbidden Planet, she appeared in miniskirts & minidresses years before they became popular. Due to this role as well as to Honey West, she is widely recognized, as indicated in the lyrics of the song Science Fiction Double Feature from The Rocky Horror Show. Knotts as Barney Fife on The Andy Griffith Show Don Knotts is an American actor. He was born in Morgantown, West Virginia. He served in World War II & received the World War II Victory Medal. He is best remembered for his role as Barney Fife on the American television show The Andy Griffith Show. He won five Emmy Awards for his work as Barney Fife. Don Knotts starred in a series of films in the 1960s ; The Incredible Mr. Limpet, The Ghost & Mr. Chicken, The Reluctant Astronaut, The Shakiest Gun in the West & The Love God?. In the 1970s, Knotts & Tim Conway starred together in a series of slapstick movies. Knotts returned to television in the 1980s, appearing as Ralph Furley on Threes Company. He also had an small role on Matlock, which starred his old friend Andy Griffith.
