Absolute Power
Background Information: Absolute Power [Top] Absolute Power is also the title of a 1996 book by David Baldacci, which was made into a 1997 film starring Clint Eastwood. The book is a story of mass coverup on the executive levels of the US government. The book is a quick, good read with intense moments of action & drama. Character development is relatively poor, as the characters tend to stay true to form as initially presented rather than undergo character change. The story is one of what would different character types do when thrown into a difficult situation. Some of the characters are stereotypical, while others seem out of place in the role they play. All-in-all, however, it is a fun read & a pure fantasy. What is described would never happen as noted by the author in the authors note at the end. Absolute Power at the Internet Movie Database. Posters Of Absolute PowerBiography: Clint Eastwood [Top] Clint Eastwood is Gorillaz debut single, released off their self-titled album Gorillaz in March 2001. It peaked at the #4 in the UK & #57 in the US. The song is strangely reggae -ish hip-hop with melodic guitar & cheesy horror-film sounds, based on a sample of The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. The verses are rapped by Del tha Funkee Homosapien, portrayed as a blue phantom in the video, while the chorus is sung as a haunting melody by 2-D. Directed by Jamie Hewlett & Pete Candeland. The video is animated. Every dead body that is not exterminated, gets up & kills. The people it kills, get up & kill in English & Japanese. This phrase was deemed offensive in some countries & a censored video was produced that omits this intro. The band is seen performing the song in what appears to be a white room, or at the very least some sort of room depicting a digital television screen in the backdrop. Then something weird happens to Russel & his hat begins to rise up on its own. The ghost of Del appears & starts to rap the song, all the while leaving the Gorillaz dumbfounded.
