Charlotte Gray is a 1999 book by Sebastian Faulks. It is set in Vichy France during the World War II. A film featuring Cate Blanchett, Billy Crudup, Michael Gambon & Rupert Penry-Jones was produced in 2001. Gillian Armstrong is a film director. Gillian Armstrong graduated from Swinburne technical college in 1968 in art & later graduated from the Australian Film & Television School. Her feature length film My Brilliant Career, an adaptation of Miles Franklin s novel of the same name, was the first Australian feature length film to be directed by a woman for 46 years.
