Biography: Chris Taylor [Top] Chris Taylor, who as of July 2005 is the San Francisco correspondent for TIME magazine, was born in Liverpool, England & received his primary education in the small northeastern town of Chester-le-Street. He attended Oxford University, majoring in history at Merton College. Taylor gained an interest in journalism after editing Cherwell, the universitys student newspaper & writing a controversial column in The Oxford Student. Prior to 1996, Taylor interned & freelanced at several London-based & Glasgow -based newspapers & magazines including The Times, Sunday Times, Daily Express, The Sun, Time Out & the British edition of GQ. He has been living in America since 1996 & joined TIME in 1997 as a senior news writer for Time Daily. In his first year, he spearheaded the magazines online coverage of Princess Diana s sudden death & the Monica Lewinsky scandal. He has covered major events in the digital world for the magazine, such as the Napster case & the decline of the dotcoms.
