However, a certain guest by the name of Lord Rutledge checks in with his orangutan, Dunston, who is trained as a jewel thief. Biography: Bill Murray [Top] William James Murray is an American comedian, producer, film director & actor. Bill was raised in Wilmette, Illinois & graduated from Loyola Academy. Murray initially rose to prominence as a cast member of & a writer for NBC s Saturday Night Live television series from 1977 to 1980. Most of his roles have been comedic, featuring Murrays dry wit. However, he has also played serious roles in films such as Mad Dog & Glory, The Razors Edge & Rushmore. He also garnered considerable acclaim as the lead in the 2003 film Lost in Translation.
