Consumer DVD Review

It is a brilliant way of raising money for charity, but, sadly, it is certainly not the best comedy dvd in the world. Many of the clips are not that good. It is very patchy & there is much great stuff not included - nothing from Only Fools & Horses, Good Life, Dads Army, Porridge, Vicar of Dibley to name but a few. Even the clips included are often not the best from the shows represented. If it wasnt for the charity aspect this would get a whopping nil points.

Peter Kay is an English comedian from Bolton. His TV series include a one-off episode of The Comedy Lab called The Services, the spoof-documentary series That Peter Kay Thing & two series of Phoenix Nights, which was born out of one of the episodes of That Peter Kay Thing. He also appeared with Alan Partridge on BBC s Comic Relief. In 2003, he was listed in The Observer as one of the 50 funniest people in British comedy. He had a cameo role in Coronation Street in January 2004. November 2004 saw the launch of the spin-off series Max & Paddys Road to Nowhere in which Kay reprises his role as Phoenix Nights bouncer, Max. He has also released several live DVDs including Live at The Top of the Tower & Live At The Bolton Albert Halls. After a fluke entry into the So You Think Youre Funny contest which he won in 1997, he took his hour long show to the Edinburgh Fringe where he was nominated for the Perrier Award. His childhood ambition was to be a bin man. He married to Susan Kay in 2001 & has a young son named Charlie who was born in 2004.

After the article has been cleaned up, you may remove this message. For help, see How to Edit a Page & the style & How-to Directory. Tommy Cooper was a British comedian & magician born in Caerphilly, Wales. Cooper made an art form of getting magic tricks wrong. He is considered by many to be one of the most inventive & funny British comedians since Charlie Chaplin. It should be noted, however, that despite his purported inability to perform conjuring tricks, he was in reality an accomplished magician & member of the Magic Circle. Famed for his red fez, he had a host of catchphrases such as Just like that!, Spoon, jar, jar, spoon!! & Whisky, sample, sample, whisky, sample. Tommy Cooper took up show business in 1947 after seven years in the Army & rapidly became a top-liner in variety with his turn as the conjuror whose tricks never succeeded. On April 15, 1984, Tommy Cooper collapsed in front of millions of television viewers, midway through his act, on the popular ITV1 variety show, Live from Her Majestys.
