Footloose is the title of an American feature film that tells the story of a teenager, Ren, raised in Chicago, who moves to a small town where the town government has banned dancing & rock music. Ren & his classmates want to have a senior prom, with music & dancing & so must figure out a way to get around the law & Reverend Shaw Moore who makes it his mission in life to keep the town dance & rock-free. The movie was loosely based on events that took place in the tiny, rural farming community of Elmore City, Oklahoma. Dean Pitchford wrote the screenplay for the film & Herbert Ross directed. Paramount Pictures co-produced & distributed the film. Footloose also starred Lori Singer as Reverend Moores independent daughter Ariel & Dianne Wiest as the Reverends devoted yet sympathetic wife. Footloose is one of the earliest film appearances of Sex & the City star Sarah Jessica Parker for which she was nominated for Best Young Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture Musical, Comedy, Adventure or Drama at the Sixth Annual Youth in Film Awards. Flashdance is a 1983 movie that was produced by Adrian Lyne. It stars Jennifer Beals & Michael Nouri. The screenwriter was Joe Eszterhas. She works as a dancer in a bar at night & in a construction site as a welder during the day, but dreams of joining an upscale dancing school. Alex meets her construction company boss, played by Nouri & they quickly fall in love. Meanwhile, she keeps practicing hard, waiting for her opportunity to join a school to come up. When it finally does, she is rejected, but she refuses to give up, and, with the help of her boyfriend, she is given a second chance. Alex trains even harder & is given a second chance. After a long dancing routine she gets accepted to the school, marking what would be the beginning of a successful career in non sensual dancing. What a feeling. This movie has been considered a 1980s Hollywood classic by many. Its soundtrack included Giorgio Moroder s smash hit Flashdance. Posters Of Flashdance
