Consumer DVD Review [Top] Being as I have resided in the USA these last five years I have not been able to see Rab & Im glad to be able to tell you that I was most pleased to see Rab finaly released on DVD.
I had these series on VHS when I lived at home in the UK & there are no differences in this DVD & the tapes actualy they look like they have just been recorded straight on to DVD from the tapes & no extras. Oh well not to worry as im a big fan of big rab & the gang I wasnt that upset about any extras I was just so glad to be able to watch these classic episodes again. Amazon give great service & I thorougly recommend them. Biography: Elaine C Smith [Top] Elaine C Smith is a British actress & comedienne. She was born in Baillieston in Glasgow & she continues to live in the city. Her first major television appearance was in 1986 as a star on the BBC sketch show Naked Video. Made by BBC Scotland it was shown throughout the UK on BBC TWO. In between seasons of Naked Video, Smith also starred in Scottish sitcom City Lights which ran for four years on the BBC. Smith is probably best known for her role as Mary Nesbitt in the BBC sitcom Rab C Nesbitt ; based on characters in a Naked Video sketch. Set in Glasgow the show was a cult hit & ran for nine years on BBC TWO. Since Rab C Nesbitt finished in 1999, Smith has appeared in the BBC dramas Two Thousand Acres Of Sky & 55 Degrees North, performed alongside Helena Bonham Carter in the British film Women Talking Dirty & toured Scotland with her stand up comedy show. Until last year, she appeared in Glasgows Kings Theatres annual pantomime. She starred alongside Gerrard Kelly in performances such as Aladdin & Mother Goose. She currently writes a weekly column in the Sunday Mail newspaper.
