Biography: Guy Pearce

Guy Pearce is an English -born Australian actor. He was born in England, but his parents moved to Australia when he was 3 years of age. His father died in a plane crash when Guy was 9 years of age. Pearce has always been interested in performing & he excelled at mimicking accents. He started in several plays when he was young & moved his way into television when he was hired for Neighbours in 1985. His first major breakthrough into film came with his over-the-top role as a transvestite in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert in 1994. Since then, he has appeared in several US productions including L,A. Confidential, Ravenous, Rules of Engagement, Memento, The Count of Monte Cristo & The Time Machine. However he continues to act in Australian theatre productions as well as Australian films such as The Hard Word & makes his home in Melbourne. It is interesting to note that in both Neighbours & Memento Pearces character suffers a head injury that results in a change of his demeanour. Posters Of Guy Pearce

Rachel Griffiths is a film & television actress. Griffiths was a relative newcomer when cast in the film Muriels Wedding as the loyal friend Rhonda & the success of this film furthered the careers of both Griffiths & her costar Toni Collette. She received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Hilary & Jackie. Although a sought after actress in Hollywood productions, she returns to Australia frequently & continues to act in Australian films. Her American roles have required her to master an American accent & in the 2001 film Very Annie Mary Griffiths adopted a Welsh accent to star with a predominantly Welsh cast as a young woman from the Valleys of South Wales. Her continuing role as Brenda Chenowith in the HBO series Six Feet Under has earned her Golden Globe & Screen Actors Guild awards as well as two Emmy Award nominations.
