Get Shorty is a novel by American novelist Elmore Leonard first published in 1990. The story centres around Chili Palmer, a small-time loanshark based in Miami, who is sent after one Leo Devoe, who has scammed an airline out of $300,000 by faking his own death. the casino is looking to collect from Harry Zimm, a horror film producer based in Los Angeles. Palmer, himself interested in the movie industry, takes the extra assignment & heads for Los Angeles. Palmer lets his interest in the movie industry overshadow his collection job. He sneaks into Zimms house in the middle of the night, startling both Zimm & his girlfriend Karen Flores & explains that he has a great idea for a movie. Zimm is immediately taken in by Palmers charm, although Flores is still skeptical, as Palmer recounts Leo Devoes story & his story chasing him to Las Vegas as if it were an uncompleted work of fiction. Flores quickly points out that the story clearly isnt fictional, she saw it on the news the past week & Palmer is the loan shark. Posters Of Get Shorty

Delroy Lindo is a British born, American actor. The son of Jamaican immigrant parents, Lindo was born & raised in Lewisham, England, where at age 5 on the strength of the nativity plays he appeared in became a stage actor. As a teenager he & his mother moved to Toronto, Canada & by the 1970s they had moved to the US where Lindo would graduate from the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco. His movie debut came in 1976 with the British comedy Find the Lady followed by two other roles in films such as that of an Army sergeant in More American Graffitti when he quit acting for 10 years to concentrate on theatre production. In 1982, he debuted on Broadway in Master Harold & the Boys directed by the plays author Athol Fugard & by 1988, Lindo earned a Tony nomination for his portayal of Harald Loomis in Joe Turners Come & Gone. John Joseph Travolta is an American actor. He became famous for his appearance in Saturday Night Fever & Grease at the height of the disco era, as well as for his portrayal of Vinnie Barbarino on the television sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter. After that, his career more or less slumped until he played Vincent Vega in Quentin Tarantino s Pulp Fiction, for which he received an Academy Award nomination. Travolta also played a lead role in the panned   Battlefield Earth, in which he plays the leader of a group of aliens that enslave humanity in a bleak future Earth. The film received almost universally negative reviews & did not do well at the box office. Travolta, who is a Scientologist & idolizes the late L Ron Hubbard, had hoped that the film would be well-received & be the first in a series of Hubbard film adaptations. He is married to actress Kelly Preston & father of two children. Travolta is a qualified pilot & owns five airplanes, including a former Qantas Boeing 707 -138.
