Background Information: Monarch Of The Glen

Monarch of the Glen is a British television drama, produced by Ecosse Films for BBC Scotland & transmitted on the BBC One network in the UK. The series premiered in 2000 & transmission of its sixth season ran from September 2004 until November 2004. A seventh series has been commissioned for broadcast in 2005. Transmitted on Sunday evenings, each episode is one hour long. The first two seasons comprised of eight episodes each, season three eleven episodes & seasons four & five ten episodes each, plus a special New Years Eve edition transmitted after the end of the fifth season. The series is also shown abroad, running successfully on BBC America & on various PBS affiliates in the United States & ABC in Australia. The series is loosely based Compton Mackenzie s Highland novels, which are set in the same location, but in the 1930s & 40s. The first book in the series is also called The Monarch of the Glen. The plot of the early series involes young laird Archibald Archie MacDonald trying to run the fictional Glenbogle Estate in the Scottish Highlands - the Glen of the series title.

Biography: Dawn Steele

Dawn Anne Steele was born on December 11th, 1975 in Glasgow, Scotland. Dawn Steele is perhaps best known as Alexandra Lexie MacDonald from the hit BBC drama Monarch of the Glen, a part which she played for series 1 - 6 of the show, 2000-2004. In January 2005, she appeared as new character Justine McManus in the second series of the BBCs paranormal drama show Sea of Souls. Shortly after, she appeared as a student on the BBC reality show Fame Academy in a second all-celebrity series in aid of the charity Comic Relief.

Biography: Paul Harrison

Paul Harrison is the founder & president of the World Pantheist Movement. For most of his life, Harrison has been a journalist & writer on the environment & Third-World development. His best known books are Inside the Third World & The Third Revolution. His book on pantheism, Elements of Pantheism, was published by Element Books in 1999. Harrison has worked for several UN agencies & travelled to many Third-World countries in Asia, Africa & Latin America. In 1988 he received a UN Environment Programme Global 500 award for his writings on environment. In July 1996 he posted the first page of what became the scientific pantheism site & in 1997 he started the mailing list that grew into the World Pantheist Movement.
