Wedding Crashers is a 2005 comedy film, directed by David Dobkin. The film stars Owen Wilson & Vince Vaughn as two men who crash wedding parties to meet women. Their freewheeling fun ends when Wilsons character falls in love with a bridesmaid, who happens to be the daughter of the US Treasury Secretary. The film was written by Steve Faber & Bob Fisher & was produced through New Line Cinema. With some filming on location in Washington, D,C. it is set for release on July 15, 2005. The surprise comedy smash of 2005, Wedding Crashers has a resolutely simple set up. You take Vince Vaughn & Owen Wilson, cast them as a pair of thirtysomethings who spend their weekends gatecrashing weddings, & put them in search of female company while they’re there. The clue really is in the title.

Yet there are several elements that make the film a little bit special. First & foremost, there’s the cast. Vaughn & Wilson are clearly having a whale of a time here, & it’s on screen for all to see. Even in the moments where the script doesn’t quite measure up, the duo have the energy & presence to keep the film ticking over. It’s great too to see them backed up well by the likes of Jane Seymour & Christopher Walken, both of whom are on fine form here.

The film is also not shy of significant belly laughs, with plenty of comedic moments of note to enjoy. Granted, you’d be hard-pushed to call it high brow comedy, but that’s missing the point. Wedding Crashers is an accessible, highly entertaining way to spend a couple of hours, & has no pretensions otherwise. And that’s its strength. In short, good, funny, energetic entertainment, & it’s got healthy rewatch potential too.,

Owen Cunningham Wilson is an American actor known for the diverse roles he has played & his slightly crooked nose. Wilson has co-written three films with director Wes Anderson -- Bottle Rocket, Rushmore & The Royal Tenenbaums & was nominated for an Academy Award in 2001 for Best Original Screenplay for his work with Anderson on The Royal Tenenbaums. Wilsons younger brother, Luke Wilson, is also a well-known actor. Wilsons roles have varied between small, quirky comedy collaborations with Anderson & bigger budget box office fare, including seven movies made with actor Ben Stiller. Vince Vaughn is an American actor. He grew up in Lake Forest, Illinois. Once he had obtained a television commercial early in his acting career, he felt for sure that his star was on the rise & he moved to Hollywood, only to face rejection after rejection. He finally got a speaking role in the movie Rudy in 1993. It was while filming Rudy that he met Jon Favreau, who was working on the original draft for his movie Swingers. He wrote Vaughn into the film & it became Vaughns breakthrough role. Jurassic Park. From there, Vaughn went on to make A Cool, Dry Place, the 1998 remake of Psycho, The Cell & Made.
