New York Minute is an American movie, produced by Time Warner & released on May 7, 2004, starring Mary-Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen & Eugene Levy. It also co-stars Jared Padalecki, a regular in the popular television show, Gilmore Girls. In addition, the movie features a special appearance by Bob Saget, former Full House co-star of the Olsen sisters, as himself. In the film, the Olsens play sisters with diametrically opposed personalities. Jane is an anal retentive, germ phobic, over-achiever while Roxy is a sloppy, school-skipping slacker. Most of the plot happens in one day. Janes goal for the day is to get to Columbia University in New York City to make a presentation at a scholarship competition. Roxys goal is to skip school to attend the production of a rock music video, also in New York City. Roxys truancy officer is in hot pursuit. The twins inadvertently get involved with a media piracy ring & endure a series of comical mishaps, before finally realizing what is missing in their lives. Posters Of New York Minute

Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen play good girl/bad girl sisters who suddenly find themselves on a high-speed chase escaping crooks, attracting hunks, & wreaking havoc in this lightweight comedy set in the Big Apple. Ashley plays high school scholar Jane Ryan, an overachiever with her sights set on winning a college scholarship competition. Mary-Kate plays her sister, Roxy, a rebellious teen truant who would rather be a rock star than a student. Since their mothers death, the sisters relationship has been strained. Now their worlds collide when a day in Manhattan forces Jane & Roxy to join forces, overcoming their differences to battle an international smuggling ring while trying to make it in time for Janes competition. While the script is predictably bland, viewers will enjoy the comedic strengths of Eugene Levy as Roxys ubiquitous truant officer. Though the twins manage some decent slapstick, their sensuality, sexual innuendo, & suggestive disrobing is disappointing. DVD bonus features include some hilarious bloopers & alternate endings.

Mary-Kate Olsen & Ashley Fuller Olsen are twin American actresses who have appeared in television & films since the age of 3 months. Despite their near-identical looks, the pair are actually fraternal rather than identical twins. They started their acting careers on the television series Full House. The show was widely popular during the late 80s & early 90s & both sisters played one character, Michelle Tanner, taking turns during the recordings to do so, in order to comply with child labor laws regarding child actors. Because the producers did not want viewers to know that Michelle was played by twins, the sisters were originally credited as Mary Kate Ashley Olsen, but later credited as separate people. Shortly after the end of Full House, they returned to the entertainment industry, riding the momentum of their role on Full House by heavily merchandising their image. Posters Of New York Minute
