I love this film, everytime I watch it, it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Yes, I know that is totally soppy, but its true.

I always forget how fantastic Doris Day was & teaming her up with Frank Sinatra was a stroke of genius.

If you havent seen this film you have to get your hands on a copy & make it part of your collection. You wont regret it.

Biography: Doris Day
[Top]
Doris Day is an American singer, actress & animal welfare advocate. A vivacious blonde with a wholesome image, she was one of the most prolific actresses of the 1950s & 1960s. The second of two children, she was named Doris after silent movie actress Doris Kenyon, whom her mother liked. Her family was Catholic, despite her parents divorce. She later embraced Christian Science. Day started out as a dancer, winning a contract that enabled her to travel to Hollywood with her partner, Jerry Doherty, in 1936, but turned to singing when she injured her leg in an auto accident in 1937. She was a singer with the big bands of Barney Rapp, Bob Crosby & Les Brown before setting out on her own in the late 1940s. It was Barney Rapp who convinced her that Kappelhoff was too awkward a name & suggested Day after the song Day after Day that was part of her repertoire. She never really liked the name Doris Day, thinking it sounded too much like a stripper; this was ironic, since she eventually became associated with a nearly opposite image of wholesomeness & innocence. Biography: Frank Sinatra
[Top]
Francis Albert Sinatra was an American singer who is considered one of the finest vocalists of all time, renowned for his impeccable phrasing & timing. At 37, Sinatra launched a second career as a film actor & became admired for a screen persona distinctly tougher than his smooth singing style. Born in Hoboken, New Jersey as the son of a quiet father & a talented, tempestuous mother, Sinatra decided to become a singer after hearing Bing Crosby on the radio. He began singing in small clubs in New Jersey & eventually attracted the attention of trumpeter & band-leader Harry James. After a brief stint with James, he joined the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra in 1940 where he rose to fame as a singer. His vast appeal to the bobby soxers, as teenage girls were then called, revealed a whole new audience for popular music, which had appealed mainly to adults up to that time. He was the first singing teen idol. He later recorded as a solo artist with some success, particularly during the musicians recording strikes. Posters Of Frank Sinatra
