Biography: George McCowan [Top] George McCowan was a Canadian film & TV director in the 1960s, 70s & 80s. McCowan began his career working for the Canadian Broadcasting Company. He moved to the United States from Canada in 1967 & stayed there. He is most notable for directing 7 episodes of Charlies Angels, directing episodes of SWAT. & directing episodes of Starsky & Hutch. He worked more often with such shows as Streets of San Francisco, Fantasy Island & Hart to Hart. McCowan also directed the 1972 film, The Magnificent Seven Ride!, the 1972 horror film, Frogs & the 1976 film Shadow of the Hawk. McCowan died in Santa Monica, California.
