Background Information: Batman
[Top]
Batman was released in US theaters on June 23, 1989 by Warner Bros. & soon became the highest grossing movie of the year. It was directed by Tim Burton & starred Jack Nicholson as a rather psychotic Joker, Michael Keaton as Batman & Kim Basinger as reporter Vicky Vale. Although Keaton played the nominal hero of the film, Nicholson received top billing. This movie ushered a return to the dark roots of the Batman of the comics & away from the campy 1960s Batman television series & cartoon Super Friends. Like many film versions of comic book heroes, the Batman movie told its own version of his origin & how The Joker figured in that origin. Many persons who grew up watching the campy 60s version criticized the film for being too dark, not realizing that the comic books are in fact one of D,C. Comics most gloomy. The minor-key score was written by Danny Elfman, with songs by Prince. Mask of the Phantasm, Batman Forever & Batman & Robin.

Kevin Conroy is an American stage, screen & voice actor, best known for his portrayal of DC Comics superhero Batman. The Animated Series, premiering in 1992. Mask of the Phantasm, Batman & Mr. Mystery of the Batwoman. Fans universally agree that Conroys versatile voice undoubtedly captures the lighter personality of Bruce Wayne & the brooding loner Batman, conveying waves of emotion in the simplest dialogue. His choleric potrayal of an elderly Bruce Wayne having lost both the Batman identity & Wayne Enterprises in the futuristic Batman Beyond is both chilling & heartwrenching. Posters Of Paradise Lost
