Star Trek: The Motion Picture is the first feature film based on the popular Star Trek science fiction television series & is released on Friday, December 7. TMP or TMP. It is widely regarded as a disappointing film due to its plodding pace & emphasis on special effects over story & characterization & is considered by many as one of the lesser films in the series. However, there are also many fans who consider this film to be the best of the series & the one film that most accurately reflected Trek creator Gene Roddenberry s vision of the future. Circa stardate 7412,6, a powerful alien force - in the shape of a massive energy cloud - is detected in Klingon space & is believed to be heading for Earth. The cloud destroys starships & other objects it encounters en route. Starfleet decides to dispatch the starship Enterprise to intercept the thing, requiring that its lengthy refit process be quickly finished & it tested while in transit. Posters Of Star Trek

In their sixth season trying to return to the Alpha Quadrant, the crew of Voyager continues to find signs that they may be close to home. They ran across another Federation starship in the season 5 cliffhanger, Equinox, which is concluded in action-packed fashion. Then they benefit from a brief communications link to home thanks to the ongoing efforts of The Next Generations Lt. Reginald Barclay , occasionally assisted by Counsellor Troi . One Small Step sets Voyager on the trail of NASAs first manned mission to Mars .

In other episodes, Torres tests the limits of Klingon honor , Tuvok stretches his emotions , Paris & Kim embark on a new holdeck program, wrestling superstar the Rock makes a gimmicky guest appearance , a former crew member returns , & the crew discovers a group of abandoned Borg children . The two most interesting characters continue to be the Doctor & Seven of Nine . The former stretches out numerous times , & we learn more about Sevens Borg past in Survival Instinct & the season closer, in which Seven discovers that during regeneration she can enter a dream world called Unimatrix Zero. There she meets a number of mutated Borg who can exist in this world in their pre-assimilation state & who also present an idea for destroying the collective from within. The Borg Queen, however, discovers the plan & ends the season in a nightmarish cliffhanger that recalls the great Next Gen episode The Best of Both Worlds.

Biography: Kate Mulgrew

Kate Mulgrew is an American actress. She was born in Dubuque, Iowa & is the second oldest of 8 siblings. Kate Mulgrew has performed in 23 plays, 9 movies, 30 television shows, 6 audio books & 1 television documentary. One of her first roles on television was of older daughter Mary Ryan on the soap opera Ryans Hope. She would become a fan favorite & would be associated with the show long after it was canceled. She is also well-remembered for starring in the short-lived 1970s series Mrs. Columbo. Voyager from 1995 to 2001, earning her greatest popular success to date. Stories of My life. Kate Mulgrew won the Saturn Award for Best TV Actress in 1998 & the Golden Satellite Award for Best Actress in a TV series drama in 1998. She was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Dramatic Actress in 1979. Biography: Robert Beltran

Robert Beltran is best known for his role as Commander Chakotay on Star Trek: Voyager. However, he has been working steadily since 1979 in both theater & in films. He has won The Nosostros Golden Eagle Award for Outstanding Actor in a Television Series & been nominated for the NCLR Bravo Award for Outstanding Television Series Actor in a Crossover Role, the ALMA Awards for Outstanding Individual Performance in a Television Series in a Crossover Role. Mr. Beltran is the seventh son of first generation Mexican-American parents & refers to himself as being Latindio. He has seven brothers & two sisters. He was born in Bakersfield, California. He graduated from California State University, Fresno with a degree in Theater Arts & moved on to Los Angeles to begin his acting career. He had his first film role in Zoot Suit, in 1981. Mr. Beltran founded & co-directed the East LA Classic Theater Group. He is also a member of the Classical Theater Lab, an ensemble of professional actors who co-produced his production of Hamlet in 1997, which he directed as well as starred in. Posters Of Star Trek

Biography: Jonathan Frakes

Jonathan Frakes is a well-known American actor & director who is best known for his portrayal of Commander William Riker in the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation. First Contact earning him the nickname Two-Takes Frakes. Frakes, originally a psychology major, received his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Penn State University in the early 1970s & went on to receive his Masters from Harvard. He moved to New York City & became a member of The Impossible Ragtime Theater. In that company Frakes did his first off-Broadway acting in Eugene ONeill s The Hairy Ape. His first Broadway appearance was in Shenandoah. At the same time, he landed a role in the NBC soap opera The Doctors. When his character was dismissed from the soap, Frakes moved to Los Angeles, California & played guest spots in many of the top television shows of the 1970s & 1980s such as The Waltons & Hill Street Blues.
