Flightplan is a 2005 American film directed by Robert Schwentke & starring Jodie Foster, Peter Sarsgaard, Erika Christensen & Sean Bean. Its North American release was in 23 September 2005. The movie is an updated adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock s 1938 film The Lady Vanishes. // Rated PG-13 for violence & some intense plot material. A variation on the locked room mystery, the movie depicts what happens after Kyle Pratt boards a fictional Aalto Airlines flight from Berlin to New York with her daughter Julia. About three hours into the flight, Kyle realizes that her daughter is missing. She searches the plane for her daughter & asks the flight attendants to check the passenger manifest, but, according to the list, her daughter never boarded the flight. Also, no one remembers having seen her. A search of the airplane fails to find Julia. The captain refuses to allow the cargo hold to be searched because he is afraid that the searchers could be hurt if the freight shifts because of turbulence.

Alicia Christian Jodie Foster is an American actress & director. Foster was born in Los Angeles, California where she attended the exclusive prep school, the Lycee Français de Los Angeles, before going on to Yale University where she earned a BA in Literature, graduating magna cum laude in 1985. Foster has made more than 50 film appearances & television since the age of eight. She began her career at the age of 2 in television commercials, including an appearance as the Coppertone Girl & then went on to appear in a variety of television series. In film, at the age of 14, she earned a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Martin Scorsese s film, Taxi Driver. Foster is intensively private about her personal life. Having given birth to two sons, she has never revealed the identity of the father of the boys or if the boys even share the same father.
