Background Information: Out Of Bounds

Out of Bounds is a 1986 film directed by Richard Tuggle & starring Anthony Michael Hall. In Out of Bounds, Hall portrays Daryl Cage, an Iowa farm boy whose parents send him to live in Los Angeles with his brother. At the airport, Cage accidentally gets his suitcase full of checkered flannel shirts switched with one containing a drug kingpins heroin. The drug kingpin has Cages brother murdered, but the police suspect Cage himself of the crime. Cage seeks vengeance against the kingpin while attempting to clear his own name. Hall had recently achieved fame as the star of a number of teen movies, such as Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club & Weird Science. Hall was eager to avoid being typecast into those roles & opted to star in Out of Bounds as a way to contrast his previous work. The film soundtrack featured songs by Stewart Copeland & Adam Ant, Night Ranger, Belinda Carlisle, The Smiths, The Cult, Sammy Hagar & Siouxsie & The Banshees.
