Biography: Aaron Neville [Top] Aaron Neville is an American soul & R & B singer. Aaron Neville has had a career as a solo artist & also as one of the Neville Brothers. Of mixed African American & Native American heritage, his music also features Cajun influence. He is perhaps most famous for the song Tell it Like it Is. Neville is noted for his unusual vibrato singing style, which he says was inspired by Gene Autry s yodelling. The Neville Brothers had a hit in 1989 with Aaron singing Yellow Moon from the album of the same name. The same year, Aaron appeared with Linda Ronstadt on her album Cry Like a Rainstorm, Howl Like the Wind, from which their duet Dont Know Much was a successful single. The performance won a Grammy in 1989 for Best Pop Duo. He also won a Grammy with the Neville Brothers in 1989 for Healing Chant as Best Pop Instrumental. In 1994, he & Trisha Yearwood won a Grammy for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals for I Fall to Pieces. He was named Best Male Singer two straight years in the Rolling Stone critics poll.
