The Blues Brothers is the name of a blues band fronted, incognito, by comedians Dan Aykroyd & John Belushi. Belushi & Aykroyd, both members of the original cast of NBC s Saturday Night Live television program, created The Blues Brothers & their alternate identities in early 1976 to warm up SNL audiences. The Blues Brothers made their first appearance on air at SNL, with Belushi & Aykroyd dressed in the bee costumes they normally wore for the Killer Bees sketch, performing Slim Harpo s Im a King Bee. In the weeks following that performance, The Blues Brothers became a popular addition to the show & began to appear on a semi-regular basis. Part of the humour is the image of two men who are dressed in black suits looking like mob hitmen suddenly exploding into energetic song & dance. Backing Jake & Elwood were top session men like guitarist Steve Cropper, bassist Donald Duck Dunn & Matt Guitar Murphy. The Blues Brothers recorded their first album, Briefcase Full of Blues, in 1978 while opening for comedian Steve Martin in Los Angeles.

John Landis is a movie actor, director, writer & producer. His career began as a teenager, working as a mailboy at 20th Century Fox. He starred in Schlock, which he also wrote & directed, as well as The Kentucky Fried Movie & National Lampoons Animal House. With Dan Aykroyd he wrote & directed Blues Brothers & An American Werewolf in London. The Movie. Actor Vic Morrow was decapitated & two child extras, My-ca Dinh Le & Renee Shin-Ye Chen, were killed by a helicopter during the filming of Twilight Zone. The parents of the children sued. At trial, prosecutors attempted to show that Landis was reckless & that he had violated laws relating to child actors by not telling their parents & others about the childrens proximity to explosives & helicopters & the hours they could work. He was also accused of negligence in his directions to the crew regarding the use of the helicopter. Landis was acquitted. Vic Morrow’s daughters, Carrie Morrow & actress Jennifer Jason Leigh, also sued & settled out of court for an undisclosed amount. Posters Of Beverly Hills Cop 3
