UZAK is one of the best films in the history of cinema, & Im saying this with perfect seriousness. Its a pity that the first Ceylans feature remains unavaiable: CLOUDS OF MAY is also an exceptional experience.

However I must admit that this Artifitial Eye edition was a total disappointment, for UZAK was shot at 2.35:1 aspect ratio, & is presented here in 1.85:1. Theres no note whatsoever that would inform about this change, & I find this very unfair to all those who experienced UZAK in cinema with its sweeping use of widescreen & would like to see it again in its original mastery.
