Background Information: Freeway [Top] Freeway is a 1996 movie starring Kiefer Sutherland, Reese Witherspoon & Brooke Shields. It was directed by Matthew Bright. The movie is a dark comedy loosely modeled after the story of Little Red Riding Hood ; Witherspoon is Red Riding Hood, while Sutherland plays the Big Bad Wolf. // Bob Wolverton, a serial killer & rapist, picks up Vanessa Lutz, an illiterate teenage runaway after her car breaks down & promises to take her to her grandmothers house. After manipulating Vanessa into confessing to him the details of her painfully dysfunctional life, including a prostitute mother & a sexually abusive stepfather, Bob reveals his true colors & tries to kill her. The tables are turned, however, as Vanessa eventually shoots him several times & escapes. Vanessa is quickly arrested & questioned by two detectives who write her off as a carjacker, even though she insists Bob had tried to kill her & had told her about his other murders.
Biography: Matthew Bright [Top] Director, writer & actor Mathew Bright s vision of a surreal, slap-happy & ultra-violent America has informed his work from the beginning. His first major role in film as the twins Squeezit & Renee Henderson for the film Forbidden Zone began with his characters being thrown in a garbage can, raped in a alternate dimensions bordello & decapitated by Satan played by Danny Elfman. Confessions of a Trickbaby, Ted Bundy & Tiptoes. Tiptoes,, was mired in controversy -- he either quit or was fired from the project --- & later showed up to its debut screening to deliver a tirade against his detractors on stage. According to his friend & Forbidden Zone director Richard Elfman during a New York Q&A session, he currently resides above a Mexican whorehouse.
