Cast Away
Background Information: Cast Away [Top] Cast Away is a 2000 film by 20th Century Fox & DreamWorks about a FedEx employee who is stranded on a deserted island after his plane crashes somewhere in the South Pacific. The movie was released nationwide in the United States on December 22, 2000, with an MPAA rating of PG-13. Tom Hanks. Hanks performance earned him a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actor. Robert Zemeckis Alan Silvestri. He subsequently won a Grammy in 2002 for the End Credit Sequence. Chuck Noland, a FedEx manager, lives through a plane crash & is stranded alone on a deserted island for four years. After he lands on the island, Chucks most immediate need is drinking water, which he satisfies by drinking coconut water & later by storing rain water in the discarded husks. His second immediate need is food. He attempts to fish, but is wholly unsuccessful at the start. As time progresses, his fishing skills steadily increase. Shortly after his first fishing attempt, he finds a compelling need to produce fire, which after great effort, many attempts & some injury he succeeds in doing. Posters Of Cast AwayConsumer DVD Review [Top] This film describes in actions what the word survival means, the man, a guy who works for fedex, a sort of amazon packaging service, who knows pretty much nothing about surival. but as luck would have it, his plane is forced to crash-land in a ocean somewhere, leaving only him as a survivor. He is washed up on a small island, where he tries to think of a way of getting himself out of the situation.
Not only do we see excellent special effects with the rain, gales etc, but it also educates us showing us some techniqes to survive, making a fire etc. Definetely a film to get & can be watched over & over again. Biography: Robert Zemeckis [Top]
