THE STORY: When Petros returns to his village after a long absence, everybody expects him to do his duty, by killing Lambros & putting an end to a vedetta that has existed between the two families for many years. But Petros has come home with new ideas, & has no intention of harming anyone. He prefers to go to Mystras & paint. There, he will meet & fall in love with Lena, Lambros daughter. But the young woman is also the object of the desire of Mathios, a friend & creditor of Lenas father. The film explores different aspects of sub-urban society leading to the....DEAD CITY. Really good, worth seeing it.

Irene Papas is a Greek -born actress who has starred in over 70 films with a career spanning over 50 years. Irene Papas was born as Irene Lelekou in Corinth, Greece. She began her early career in Greece achieving widespread fame in that country before staring internationally renowned films such as The Guns of Navarone, Zorba the Greek & critically acclaimed films such as Z & Elektra. She has recently been seen in the film, Captain Corellis Mandolin & is currently working in theatre in Portugal.
