Predator is a 1987 science fiction movie that was directed by John McTiernan & released on Friday, June 12. It featured actors Arnold Schwarzenegger, Carl Weathers, Bill Duke, Sonny Landham, Elpidia Carrillo, Richard Chaves & Jesse Ventura. Energetic & full of machismo, the movie was successful enough to generate a sequel, Predator 2, in 1990. The mission began when 5 US Special Forces soldiers lead by Major Dutch Schaeffer are ordered to rescue a Guatemalan cabinet minister who has been captured by guerrilla forces after his helicopter crashed in the jungle across the border. Along with CIA man Dillon the team are dropped behind the border & began looking for traces of the minister & his escort. Instead they find the crashed chopper, which appeared to be a reconnaissance bird rather than transport, as well as traces of a dozen rebels being followed by several men with American equipment. Later on the mission, they also discovered three dead US soldiers hanging from trees, all of them mutilated horribly.

Commando is a 1985 Hollywood action movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger & directed by Mark L Lester. The plot concerns Col. John Matrix, an elite retired commando whose daughter, Jenny, was kidnapped as a hostage to make him perform a political assassination against a dictator he deposed. Instead, he escapes in transit & sets out to rescue his daughter within the time frame allotted before she is killed. This film is notable for being the first regular action film starring Schwarzenegger that featured his distinctive sense of humour. It was released by 20th Century Fox on Oct. 4, 1985. It took in $7,700,000 during its opening weekend, playing on 1,495 screens in the United States. It went on to gross $35 Million in the United States & $57 Million worldwide. Conan the Barbarian is a 1982 film by director John Milius & is recognized as the breakthrough of actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. It is loosely based on the Conan the Barbarian stories by Robert E Howard. It was followed in 1984 by a lighter, more child-friendly, but less successful sequel, Conan the Destroyer. While its sequel is a much more traditional sword & sorcery tale that includes magic, monsters & fantastical events, Conan the Barbarian is set in a relatively realistic bronze & iron age setting with only a few supernatural elements. // The film begins with a young Cimmerian boy, Conan, witnessing the destruction of his village & the death of his parents at the hand of warlord Thulsa Doom. The narration tells, Who knows what they came for, weapons of steel or murder? It was never known for the leader went to the south. The battle standard carried by the invaders, a snake with two heads, is burned into the memory of young Conan. Conan is sold into slavery with the rest of the children from his village & forced to preform intense manual labor.

Dan Hedaya is a prolific character actor. Born July 24, 1940, in Brooklyn, Hedaya was a junior high school teacher for many years before deciding to pursue acting full time.
