The Rage: Carrie 2
Background Information: The Rage: Carrie 2 [Top] The Rage: Carrie 2 is the 1999 sequel to the 1976 horror film classic Carrie. Katt Shea directed this sequel that starred Emily Bergl, Mena Suvari, Jason London & also the return of Amy Irving, who starred in the original film. This film is more bloody & gorier than the original Carrie. Looks can kill. // In 1976, Sue Snell watched her life crumbled as her boyfriend Tommy Ross & most of her friends were killed by telekinetic Carrie White after she was humiliated by sadistic classmate Chris Hargenson at the school prom after being pronounced Prom Queen. Now, 23 years later, Sue is a counselor at the new high school where she seems to develop most of her time on Rachel Lang, a troubled young girl whose best friend Lisa Parker has just commited suicide. Rachel is a normal girl, except for the fact that she can move things with her mind from time to time. Some of the football jocks are planning to humiliate Rachel at the biggest party of the year, using the unknowing Jesse Ryan as bait, because she told on them being involved in her friends death.
Consumer DVD Review [Top] Dont be put off by the 2 star rating. This doesnt mean its a rubbish film, its obviously not in the same league as films such as The Green Mile & Gladiator, which is why i gave it only 2. I have the original Carrie on dvd & watched this sequel on sky. I wasnt expecting anything special, however, what i got was a good storyline & some good acting. The ending of the film has much more action than the 1st. The story of Carrie 2 does actually make sense. Its unfortunate that Mena Suvari had such a short role but the other actors do their jobs well. For the casual horror fan i wouldnt recommend buying this, however, the movie buff & the hardcore horror fans would definately want to add this to their collection.
