Bowfinger is a 1999 film directed by Frank Oz. The script is by Steve Martin, who also stars in the title role. Film producer Bobby Bowfinger is extremely eager to make a film. He has a script, penned by an accountant. He has a camera operator with access to studio-owned equipment. He even has several actors who are hungry for work. None of this matters if he cant get a deal with a studio. He manages to extract a promise from a film studio executive that the executive will distribute the film if it includes action star Kit Ramsey. actors walk up & recite their lines & the camera catches Ramseys confused reactions. Ramsey misinterprets the movies sci-fi dialogue & believes hes being stalked by aliens, damaging his already-precarious mental state. Bowfinger   at the Internet Movie Database

Film-makers often remark that its just so hard to make a bad picture that few would take on the challenge if they werent so naive. Steve Martins Bobby Bowfinger is cut from that pattern, one of those sweet, indomitable operators of Hollywood who seem to be descended directly from Ed Wood . To resurrect his ramshackle existence, Bowfinger opts to film his accountants sci-fi spectacular,Chubby Rain, about aliens invading in raindrops. The snag is he needs to attach action megastar Kit Ramsey , an actor so paranoid he counts the occurrences of the letter k in scripts to uncover possible Ku Klux Klan influences. When his effort fails, Bowfinger hits on an ingenious scheme to film Ramsey without his knowledge, throwing his actors at the hapless star whenever he appears in public. Only Kit begins to believe hes being hounded by aliens for real, & runs hysterically to his guru at a Scientology-clone group called MindHead, where people walk around in fine suits wearing white pyramids on their heads. Deprived of his star, yet not to be undone, Bowfinger hires a look-alike, Jiff , to fill in. The tone of the picture is sometimes flat, rather than deadpan, but thats nitpicking. The farce is quick & engrossing, & populated with terrific performances, especially by Eddie Murphy, whose dual role as Kit & Jiff showcases his character-building gift, & by Martin, whose Bowfinger, part con man & part would-be visionary, manages to capture your sympathies. Heather Grahams would-be actress cheerfully sleeps her way to the top like she knows shes supposed to, & Christine Baranski plays her shopworn method actor with myopic self-absorption.
Biography: Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy is an African-American comedian & actor. Murphy began his comedy career at the young age of 19, as a performer on NBC s Saturday Night Live television show. His characters include a parody of Buckwheat from the Little Rascals & of Fred Rogers. Murphy later starred in many comedies including the Beverly Hills Cop series, Trading Places & Coming to America. He is a versatile voice actor & voiced the donkey in the Shrek series & the dragon in Disney s Mulan. In many of his films, he plays multiple roles in addition to his main character. A perfect example of this is The Nutty Professor, a remake of the Jerry Lewis classic in which Murphy plays several members of the Klump family as well as Sherman Klumps arrogant alter ego, Buddy Love. His early comedy was racy, akin to Richard Pryor, whom Murphy says was the one that wanted to get into comedy. Characterized by excessive swearing & making fun of gays, singers & others, Murphy became, in a sense, the Pryor of the 1980s. Posters Of Eddie Murphy
