What a season. Back in the champions league, Quarter Final of the FA & Worthington Cup & victories over Man Utd, Arsenal & a double over Leeds. This is definitely one of NUFCS better seasons. Also great goals such as roberts free kicks against Southampton, Man Utd, Derby & Ipswich. Alan Shearer being the first player to score 200 premiership goals. Plus a victory over the old enemy Sunderland is always nice.This also includes intertoto cup action with a thrilling second legged final against Troyes. Great comebacks are also on such as the ones against Derby & Leeds. This certainly was the return of the entertainers.

Ian Payne is a British television broadcaster who works for Sky Sports as presenter of its FA Cup & League Cup coverage. He began his career with BBC Radio Lancashire in 1986 & was once named as Northwest Young Journalist of the Year. Payne joined BBC Radio network sport in 1988, initially as a producer with BBC Radio 2 & on programmes including BBC Radio 4 s Today. As the long-standing frontman on BBC Radio Five Live s prestigious Saturday afternoon show Sport on 5, the most popular sports programme on British radio, he became one of Five Lives most recognisable voices. He has hosted coverage of a range of major sports events, including the FA Cup Final, Six Nations Championship rugby union & rugby leagues Challenge Cup Final & in 2005 completed a years stint as the presenter of Five Lives weekday afternoon show. Payne then made the switch to Sky, after fifteen years with the BBC. He began by presenting Monday Night Football, but was replaced by Jeff Stelling from the start of the 2005-06 season.
