Biography: Nagarjuna
[Top]
Hero Nagarjuna entered his 20th year this week as a Hero. According to Tollywood Press, Nag was launched into Telugu Cinema on 23rd May 1986. The film was Vikram, a remake of Subhash Ghai’s blockbuster musical Hero. Since then he has come a long way re-writing the stardom rules & churning trend setting blockbusters like Geetanjali, Shiva & Annamayya. In the last 19 years of Nagarjuna’s career he had seen usual ups & downs. Though he had earlier hits like Majnu & Collector Gaari Abbayi, it is Geetanjali that brought him new fans & he came out from his legendary father ANR’s shadow with that. After that came Shiva, a Tollywood’s trend setter movie of recent times & firmed up his position. & yes, Nag too went through spate of flops in his career at one time particularly after Shiva but he never felt depressed. According to him, failures have made him realize how bad films that he had done & learnt from the mistakes. Attitude! Nag’s all time favorite is Shiva – for everything. & for Annamayya - he liked the film as an audience more than anything else.
