Consumer DVD Review

An embarassing episode of American history, this DVD remains unavailable in the American format. It was shown on television once.

Natasha Richardson plays the true story of Ruth Gruber who managed to save European Jews threatened by Nazi genocide. The movie demonstrates the American governments position that this genocide was NOT occuring even though the truth was known by the American government. Because the genocide was not occuring, per the American government, there was no need to allow the immigration of the threatened Jewish persons. Ruth Gruber managed to save some & bring them to America while having to deal with American government obstacles.

Since this dvd remains unavailable in the USA, it is probably well worth watching! The true story is good & the acting & costume of Natasha Richardson is great. Watch it & see why it is not available in America!
