If you want to see a movie with a very specific solid plot this is probably not for you. It may appear to be just a big collection of meaningless conversations but if youre in the right mood to sit down & really listen to the dialogue I think you will be pleasantly suprised. I have to agree with the previous reviewer, this is very much an actors movie with Penn, Spacey & Palminteri giving searing performances. The movie itself is about life, to be more specific, the lives of four men & their ups & downs, actually just their downs. None of these men are particulary likeable in any way which is why the movie is so unique. The movie does reach a conclusion in the end so stick with it. If you give it a chance, you will not be disappointed.

Kevin Spacey Fowler in South Orange, New Jersey, better known as Kevin Spacey, is an American actor. He has won two Oscars for his film acting, including Best Supporting Actor for The Usual Suspects in 1995 & Best Actor for American Beauty in 1999. Spaceys first professional stage appearance was as a messenger in a New York Shakespeare Festival performance of Henry VI, part 1 in 1981. The following year he made his first Broadway appearance in Henrik Ibsen s Ghosts. Although his interest soon turned to film, Spacey remains actively involved in the live theater community. In 1991, he won a Tony Award for his portrayal of Uncle Louie in Neil Simon s Broadway hit Lost in Yonkers. Spacey announced in February 2003 that he is moving to London, England to become the artistic director of the Old Vic, one of the citys oldest theatres. Spacey will direct a new Old Vic Theatre Company, which will stage shows eight months out of the year, starting in 2004. Sean Penn is a American film actor noted for his inflammatory & sometimes violent personality. Penn is the son of director Leo Penn, who was blacklisted during McCarthyism for refusing to testify. actor Chris Penn & musician Michael Penn. Penn has starred in over 40 movies & has won an Academy Award for Mystic River. He has also been nominated for three other Academy Awards. Penn lives in Marin County, California, north of San Francisco. Once married to pop icon Madonna, Penn is currently married to actress Robin Wright, whom he wed on April 27, 1996. They have two children together, born before the two were married. On October 18, 2002, Penn placed an $56,000 advertisement in the Washington Post asking President Bush to end a cycle of violence. It was written as an open letter & referred to the planned attack on Iraq & the War on Terror. In the letter, Penn also criticised the Bush administration for its deconstruction of civil liberties & its simplistic & inflammatory view of good & evil.
