The Patriot is the name of several movies, released in 1916, 1917, 1928, 1996, 1998 & 2000. The 1928 film was written by Julian Johnson & Hanns Kräly. Paul I by Dmitri Merezhkovsky ; Der Patriot by Alfred Neumann ; & The Patriot by Ashley Dukes. The film was directed by Ernst Lubitsch. The movie is a biographical story of Tsar Paul I of Russia, starring Emil Jannings, Florence Vidor & Lewis Stone. It won the Academy Award for Best Writing Achievement & was nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Art Direction, Best Director & Best Picture. there has been mixed reviews regarding the superbit format-essentially that you need a high defenition tv to really appreciate the improved digital transfer.well i have viewed this movie on a 32 tv & i was literally blown away! the picture is pin sharp & the soundtrack is amazing.using the dts option i was amazed at the clarity & depth of the soundtrack.i could hear every shot from the numerous battle scenes,my living room was immersed in true surround sound.the thing to remember with superbit is the inclusion of dts,which was never offered on the standard release in the uk by columbia tri-star.i cannot recommend the superbit format enough, for the inclusion of dts it gets a ten out of ten alone.

Heath Andrew Ledger is an Australian actor. Ledger was born in Perth, Australia. He lived in Western Australia until he was 16, when he graduated a year early from Guildford Grammar. He then moved to Sydney with his best friend, Trevor DiCarlo, in pursuit of a career in acting. Heath got his first break by starring in the American television series Roar. He went on to star in the movie 10 Things I Hate About You. Since then he has starred in such films as The Patriot, A Knights Tale, The Order & The Brothers Grimm. Heath Ledgers most professionally successful year was 2001, with his ShoWest Award for the Male Star of Tomorrow based on his performance in The Patriot & worldwide release of the hit anachronistic jousting romp A Knights Tale. Mel Gibson is an American -born Australian -reared actor, director & producer best known for either acting in Mad Max movie series, the Lethal Weapon series, Braveheart & directing The Passion of the Christ. He was born Mel Columcille Gerard Gibson in Peekskill, New York, the sixth child of eleven born to Hutton Gibson & Ann. Mel was born with a rare physical anomaly called Horseshoe kidney. His two kidneys are fused at the base into a U shape. This fusion anomaly occurs in about one of every 400 people. Although he maintained his United States citizenship, he was raised in Australia from the age of twelve. Following a victory on the TV game show Jeopardy!, Gibsons father, Hutton, moved his family to Australia in 1968 in protest of the Vietnam War & because he believed that changes in American society were immoral.
