Will & Grace is an American television situation comedy focusing on Will Truman, a gay corporate attorney & his best friend Grace Adler, a straight woman who runs her own interior design business. The show debuted on the NBC network in 1998 & steadily gained in popularity, culminating when it moved to Thursday night as part of NBCs Must-Back in college, Will & Grace were actually boyfriend & girlfriend, with Will in denial about his sexuality. However, with the counsel of his new friend Jack McFarland, Will finally came out to Grace during a Thanksgiving weekend at her family home in 1985. Grace was shocked, hurt & angry at the time, throwing him out of the house, but a year later they finally reconciled & renewed their friendship. When the show debuted, the pair had just started living as roommates in New York City after Grace had come out of a long-term relationship which ended badly & needed an apartment.

Hit American sitcom Will & Grace is as perky as Friends & as wittily urbane as Frasier. The premise concerns Will , a mildly uptight lawyer who agrees to have as a flatmate his best friend, interior designer Grace . Their relationship has all the hallmarks of lovers, emotional dependency, little things that get on each others nerves, strong mutual interests & volcanic arguments. The only snag is that while Grace is straight, Will is gay.

Though not shy of poking sharp fun at that situation, Will & Grace is among sitcoms most potent & sophisticated antidotes to homophobia. Though initially a little too pleased with its own camp pertness, the show grows & grows on you with successive episodes, finally becoming indispensable. It also benefits from secondary characters Jack & Karen , also gay & straight respectively, both outrageously & hilariously irresponsible characters: he a free spirit & freeloader, shes working as Graces assistant even though she doesnt need the money, having married it. Despite its diamond & rapid-fire punchlines, Will & Grace conveys enough sense of the main characters lovelorn predicament to prevent it from becoming too cute.

Debra Messing, is an United States actor. She is married to screenwriter Daniel Zelman & on April 7, 2004, gave birth to their son, Roman Walker Zelman. She became widely known as interior designer Grace Adler in the sitcom Will & Grace. In 2003 she won an Emmy Award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for the role. Debra Messing was born into a Jewish family in the New York City borough of Brooklyn on August 15, 1968. When she was three she moved with her parents & her older brother, Brett, to a quiet town outside Providence, Rhode Island. Her father, Brian Messing, is a sales executive for a jewelry manufacturer; her mother, Sandy Messing, has worked as a professional singer, banker, travel agent & real estate agent. As a youngster Messing took lessons in dance, singing & acting. While Messing’s parents encouraged her dream of becoming an actress, they also urged her to get a liberal-arts education before deciding on acting as a career. James Burrows is a prolific American television director who has been working in television since the 1970s. 1970s - The Mary Tyler Moore Show, The Bob Newhart Show, Rhoda, Laverne & Shirley, Taxi. 1990s - Wings, Frasier, Friends, NewsRadio, Caroline in the City & every episode of Will & Grace. He has also had cameo appearances in several of the shows for which he has written. He also appears as a television director in the 2005 HBO series The Comeback. It is unclear from character development if Burrows is actually playing himself. Burrows has been nominated for 15 Directors Guild of America awards & for an Emmy Award every year since 1980, excluding 1997. He is the son of playwright & television personality Abe Burrows.
