UFO - The Misdemeanour Tour
Background Information: Ufo [Top]
Consumer DVD Review [Top] If you fundamentally love UFO, then this is one for your collection, not least for the unusual line-up of the band in 1985. The antics of the amazing Atomic Tommy M in place of Michael Schenker are a delight throughout the DVD, , but Tommys use of a Fender/Gibson ensemble doesnt quite hit the flying V notes. Although the first half of the act has all the ingredients, the line-up fails to quite come together, & the material lacks melodic depth in places- plus the uniquely gifted Schenker is missed. Things improve gradually creating that special UFO feel towards the end, with old favourites Only You Can Rock Me, topped off with a ten-minute encore of Doctor Doctor, restoring belief in the band.
If youre a life-long UFO freak like me, then this is one for the collection, but if youve never heard Strangers in the Night live album, get that first. Additional Articles & Resources: [Top] Ufo: | Wikipedia Article * |
