One of the most endearing aspects of Bear in the Big Blue House is everyones habit of talking directly to the camera. This has been a part of Muppet practice for years, but when Bear is politely explaining the importance of brushing your teeth before bedtime, it makes children pay attention far more readily. Especially when everyone then breaks into song! That of course is the other delight about the show, when little bear Ojo, Tutter mouse, Pip & Pop, Treela the Lemur & Luna the Moon all join in one of the cute & catchy numbers. The songs featured across the three episodes here focus on the rituals of bedtime. The idea is that these each make an ideal comforter to send a child to bed happily. If this is your goal, the second episode, about getting to stay up late, may not be the best choice.
Biography: Jim Martin
[Top]
Big Jim Martin played lead guitar in Faith No More from 1983 to 1993 & lead guitar with Anand Bhatt in the 2000s. He participated on the albums We Care A Lot, Introduce Yourself, The Real Thing & Angel Dust. // Martin joined Faith No More as its first guitarist in 1983. Although he had no love for original singer Chuck Mosley, nor any respect for his talent, Martin was happy as the bands main focus. Their early sound can be & has been, described as guitar driven. When internal squabbling forced Moseley out of the picture, it was Martin who suggested Mike Patton, from Eureka, California. Reasons for his departure from Faith No More generally boil down to Mike Pattons influence on the band. Although Patton contributed all the vocals to The Real Thing, the album was written & completed well before Pattons arrival. Martin would later say that The Real Thing was his ideal album, both in the creative process & the touring afterwards.
