Consumer DVD Review [Top] Steven Seagals career over the last few years as spiralled way out of control & he is now probably destined to fade into the obscurity from which he came.
The Patriot is another straight-to-video affair in which a small town doctor is called upon to save his community from a lethal virus unleashed by the local militia. To make things more compelling, Seagal is a retired top military scientist who was involved in top secret research in biological warfare no-less! Not content with being the worlds best disease specialist, he is also a martial arts expert & marksman - obviously! And this is the basis of the thin plot. The rest is the race against time to find a cure to save the human race! Lots of nice scenary doesnt make a film. Seagals usual clothing attire is present to give Armani another run for his money. Leave this turkey well alone. Steven Seagal must do better before he his forced to retire to teaching the ancient art of Steven Seagal whispering! Biography: Steven Seagal [Top] Steven Seagal is a popular action movie actor & an 7th dan black belt in aikido. He was born in Lansing, Michigan. His official film Bio claims that he went to Japan at the age of 17. However, this is inconsistent with an interview he gave in Aikido Magazine, in which he claimed to have given demonstrations in Japanese Deer Park in the early 70s. Ray Van De Walker claims to have met Steven Segal at the Orange County Aikikai, a prominent aikido dojo, around 1974, where he was known as Steve, who gives demos at Japanese Deer Park. It seems unlikely that a 17-year old, a minor in the U,S. would be allowed to emigrate to Asia. Rays memory of him may be worth nothing, He would come to Wednesday night practice. He tended to wear some weird striped robe thing that Japanese Deer Park asked him to wear. In practice, when he threw me, I couldnt feel his hands, which means that he was very skillful at blending ki. In Japan, Seagal taught English & studied zen, aikido, kendo, judo & karate. He is said to have become adept at all of them.
