Gene Roddenberrys Andromeda is a science fiction television series, a posthumous creation of Gene Roddenberry. It stars Kevin Sorbo as High Guard Captain Dylan Hunt. The series premiered in the fall of 2000 & as of December 2004 was in its fifth & final season. At the start of the series the known universe is mostly part of the Systems Commonwealth, based from Tarn-Vedra & is quite a utopian society. However, one of the Commonwealths member species, the Nietzscheans, became disillusioned with the peace with the Magog & try to overthrow the Commonwealth. In the first battle, Dylan Hunt is forced to evacuate his crew, but his ship, the Andromeda Ascendant gets caught on the edge of a black hole s event horizon. Over 300 years later, a salvage crew rescues him. The Systems Commonwealth has fallen, leading to a dark age known as The Long Night. Hunt recruits the salvage crew to join him in an attempt to restore the Systems Commonwealth & rekindle the light of civilization. Posters Of Andromeda

No sci-fi show can be without a trial episode accusing someone of past crimes. Forced Perspective sees Dylan accused of a 300-year-old war atrocity & having to argue the case from very peculiar perspectives. This episode feels like filler, but the viewer ought to pick up on two important aspects of the show happening on the periphery. Whats going on between Tyr & Beka? Even more importantly, whats going on with Trance?

An interesting reversal of roles is presented to Dylan when an organised group of machines offer for him to join their Consensus of Parts. Neither is fully willing to join the other however, & so The Sum of Its Parts turns out to be less than either hoped for. This episode was another cowritten by a noted science fiction author, & Steven Barnes injects some welcome introspection into the proceeding story arc.

Fear & Loathing in the Milky Way is experienced by all following the return of the Eureka Marus original commissioning lowlife, Gerentex . Trances deft sleight of hand helps at the casino tables, while Harpers wisecracking front finally slips to reveal a man capable of action in a tight spot. We also learn exactly how Beka practices Valentineology.

At long last we learn Revs full name & get a fuller explanation of his Wayist belief. The Devil Take the Hindmost reveals Jesus to be one of the revered Saints too. This was actually one of the first plot lines considered for the show, but caught up with its own internal story arcs, Revs character has had to wait until now for a proper spotlight.

Lisa Ryder is a Canadian actress best known as Beka Valentine on the science fiction television series Gene Roddenberrys Andromeda. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Ryder attended the University of Toronto, where he began acting. She formed a local theature group in Toronto after graduation & landed her first film & television roles in the mid- 1990s. She gained a following as Tracy Vetter on the final season of the science fiction drama Forever Knight in 1995 - 1996 & was cast on the syndicated science-fiction series Andromeda in 2000 ; the series is currently in its fifth season. Peter DeLuise is an American actor & director, in New York, New York,born in a family full of actors .Peter DeLuise is the son of actor/comedian Dom DeLuise & actress Carol DeLuise,brother of actors Michael DeLuise & David DeLuise. Peter DeLuises fisrt film he starred in was the 1979 film Hot Stuff,but it wasnt untill 1987 he became well known on tv as Officer Doug Penhall in the Fox hit tv series 21 Jump Street from 1987 to 1990.Peters brother Michael came on the show in the 5th season which he played his younger brother Officer Joey Penhall .Peter is also well known for his roll as Dagwood on the NBC science fiction tv series SeaQuest DSV from 1994 to 1996. Peter was married to actress Gina Nemo from 1988 to 1992,she played Doug Penhalls girlfriend on 21 Jump Street .Peter is now married to Canadian actress Anne Marie Loder,they have a son together.
