Noddy - A Bike For Big Ears
Background Information: Noddy [Top] Noddy is a fictional character created by British childrens author Enid Blyton. One of the most enduring & best-loved of childrens characters, Noddy is a little wooden doll who lives in Toyland. His best friend is Big-Ears - a brownie. Noddy lives next to a family of teddy bears & owns a self-aware car. Noddy originally appeared in a series of illustrated books, but later became popular with a new generation of children as a result of an animated television adaptation. Written at a time of segregation, the original Noddy stories featured Golliwogs - black-faced woollen dolls. These dolls were popular in the UK at the time the stories were written, but have fallen out of favour because of a better awareness of race relations. Recently, in the TV series & a new series of books, Noddy has been updated, with the original Gollywog characters replaced by other sorts of toys & with the addition of ethnic dolls. for example, in writing a subroutine to solve simultaneous linear equations, the Noddy case is where there is only one equation & one variable.
Consumer DVD Review [Top] My son loved it from the moment we bought this. 6 episodes in one & then a couple of extra features. If your child likes noddy, then theyll probably have seen these episodes on TV but that doesnt matter as youll get some peace & quiet whilst they take the stories in. The alphabet game is a bit tame & not worth the effort but overall the stories are a winner in our house.
