Kristy McNichol is an American actress, most known for her role as Letitia Buddy Lawrence on the drama Family, which she played from 1976 to 1980. She began her career with guest appearances on such series as Starsky & Hutch & The Bionic Woman. Her first stint as a series regular came with the role of Patricia Apple in Apples Way in 1974. In 1976, she was cast as Buddy in Family, for which the actress earned Emmy Awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Dramatic Series in 1976 & 1978. In 1988, she started playing the character of Barbara Weston on Empty Nest, but had to leave midway through the shows run when she was diagnosed with depression. McNichols feature film credits include Only When I Laugh, Little Darlings, White Dog & The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia. Kristy McNichol is host of the annual Kristy McNichol Celebrity Tennis Tournament, benefitting the HELP. group for abused children in Los Angeles.

Susan Sarandon is an Academy Award winning American actress. Born Susan Abigail Tomalin in New York, New York, she attended The Catholic University of America in 1964, where she met & married fellow student Chris Sarandon, whom she would divorce fifteen years later while still retaining her married name as her stage name. In 1970 she went to a cattle call for the film Joe with Chris and, although he did not get a part, Susan received the major role of the disaffected teen who disappears into the seedy underworld. She did not follow up on the success of that movie, taking roles in lesser films such as Lovin Molly ; it was five more years before she appeared in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the cult classic. That same year, she also played the female lead in The Great Waldo Pepper, opposite Robert Redford. She was nominated for an Oscar in 1980 for Atlantic City, but was still not a household name until the 1988 film Bull Durham.
