A lot of the facts that this mini-series tries to put across are inaccurate, & on a totally unrelated matter, the lead actress looks nothing like her character. As charming as Poppy Montgomery is, she does not remotely resemble Marilyn Monroe. Also, the storytelling in this biopic seems frightfully rushed; & it seems at times that the film-makers were frantically trying to condense Miss Oates book. However, the cast is very talented, & make a good job of it. Overall, 2/5. The production design is the real stand-out, however, especially the restaging of the Diamonds Are A Girls Best Friend number from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The song Happy Birthday, Mr. President sang at President Kennedys birthday part is well done, & ends the movie. ^_^

Patricia Richardson is a American television & motion picture actress best known for her role as Jill Taylor on Home Improvement. Born to a Navy family, Richardson attended the Hockaday School for Girls in Dallas, Texas & was a 1973 graduate of Southern Methodist University, where she was friends with classmate Beth Henley. A Musical Fable, eventually playing several parts. With early roles in programs such as Double Trouble & The Equalizer, Richardson also appeared in small roles in the films CHUD. & You Better Watch Out, before finding her break-out part in 1991 as Jill Taylor in Home Improvement. Although considered sometimes overwrought & tightly-wound as a character, Jill Taylor was seen by critics as a fair representation of motherhood, on the whole more balanced than the usual sitcom representation. Possibly Jane Kaczmarek s role on Malcolm in the Middle could be seen as a more extreme offshoot of this character type.
