Birds Of A Feather - Series 1
Background Information: Birds Of A Feather [Top] Birds of a Feather was a successful situation comedy shown on BBC1 in the United Kingdom between 1989 & 1998. The premise revolved around two sisters, the archly named Sharon & Tracey whose lives had taken very different routes. The former had married a loser husband & lived on a council estate whilst the latter had risen through society to reach the status of a pampered housewife in the exclusive suburb of Chigwell in Essex. When the womens husbands are convicted & imprisoned for armed robbery, Sharon moves in with Tracey & eight years of prime time sitcom material followed. The third main member of the cast was Lesley Joseph who played Dorian, a sexually voracious ageing trophy wife & neighbour to Tracey. Reminding the viewer of a poor mans Joan Collins, Dorians lusty excursions & stereotypical Jewish mannerisms are generally the most fondly remembered elements of the series.
Consumer DVD Review [Top] The story of two women, Traci & Sharon. Both have travelled somewhat different paths in life. Sharon lives in a high rise block of flats that are run by the local council, & Traci lives in a large posh house in a rich area. They are both flung together after their husbands are put in prison for armed robbery.
They become close friends & we follow there ups & downs. Talking of ups & downs, their neighbour Dorien is a snooty upper class twit who chases every man she sees! She is a great in this show, talk about mutton dressed up as lamb! I have to say this show is great, really funny & a welcome part to my dvd collection..give it a try, you wont regret it.
