Wayne Sleep is an English dancer. He started studying with Muriel Carr & the Royal Ballet School, joined Royal Ballet in 1966 & became a principal dancer. He had an incredible jump & spin. In 1973 he established a world record by doing an entrechat douze - a jump with six beats. The record still stands to this day. He has danced many roles including a solo in Jazz Calendar & David in David & Goliath. He also acts. His acting credits include Tigger in Winnie the Pooh & Villiers in Soldiers. His choreography credits include David & Goliath. In 2003 he appeared in the reality TV series, Im a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! In the 2005 - 2006 pantomime season he appeared in Beauty & the Beast at the Theatre Royal, Windsor. He is also particularly famous for being the shortest male dancer ever admitted into the Royal Ballet School. Had he not left his audition for the school early & not missed his final physical examination, he would not have gained a place. He is often chosen for character roles due to his unusual physique!

This workout is more Pilates based than dance, which surprised me, & although I am sure it will benefit many people, its slow pace takes some getting used to if you are a regular home exerciser, & my guess is that older or beginner exercisers might get the most out of it. Wayne is very likeable, & I did enjoy doing this, but I dont feel it will be one of the DVDs I use most often. Word of warning: there is no cool down - which is the one serious flaw of this programme - so youll need to do your own stretches afterwards. If you are a novice & dont know how to go about that, Id suggest doing the warm up again at the end .
