Metro is a 1997 film starring Eddie Murphy & Michael Rapaport. It was directed by Thomas Carter. Murphy plays a hostage negotiator in San Francisco. He seeks revenge when his best friend is murdered by an jewel-thief. The film was not very successful in the box office. Some have blamed its poor performance because it was released around the time of Eddie Murphys incident with a trans-gendered prostitute. It also had a poor critical reception. Posters Of Metro

Another Eddie Murphy action vehicle that pales in comparison to hits like Beverly Hills Cop, this standard cop-movie fare still manages to be engaging on the strength of Murphys ease in front of a camera. Murphy plays an unorthodox hostage negotiator for the San Francisco Police Department on the trail of the criminal who killed his partner. Paired up with a bright new trainee played by Michael Rapaport , Murphy uses both his skills & his anger to hunt down the killer. A competent action movie, there are some standout moments such as a car chase culminating in a cable car shoot-out on the streets of San Francisco, & Michael Wincotts frightening performance as the villain. Metro offers up a standard action vehicle for Murphy to showcase his charm, as well as a moderate entertainment with some memorable moments.
Biography: Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy is an African-American comedian & actor. Murphy began his comedy career at the young age of 19, as a performer on NBC s Saturday Night Live television show. His characters include a parody of Buckwheat from the Little Rascals & of Fred Rogers. Murphy later starred in many comedies including the Beverly Hills Cop series, Trading Places & Coming to America. He is a versatile voice actor & voiced the donkey in the Shrek series & the dragon in Disney s Mulan. In many of his films, he plays multiple roles in addition to his main character. A perfect example of this is The Nutty Professor, a remake of the Jerry Lewis classic in which Murphy plays several members of the Klump family as well as Sherman Klumps arrogant alter ego, Buddy Love. His early comedy was racy, akin to Richard Pryor, whom Murphy says was the one that wanted to get into comedy. Characterized by excessive swearing & making fun of gays, singers & others, Murphy became, in a sense, the Pryor of the 1980s. Posters Of Eddie Murphy
